Substance Abuse Professionals (SAP)<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Employers with Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated safety-sensitive employees are subject to the regulatory requirements specified in 49 CFR Part 40 regarding drug and alcohol misuse prevention. Any employer required to comply with DOT regulations must provide an individual who has tested positive for drugs or alcohol on a DOT-mandated test with information about a qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP).<\/span><\/p>\n

SAP’s fundamental responsibility is to provide a comprehensive face-to-face assessment and clinical evaluation to determine what level of assistance the employee needs in resolving problems associated with alcohol use or prohibited drug use.<\/span><\/p>\n

The FAA hazardous materials program was started as a result of the crash of ValueJet Flight 592 on May 11, 1996. This presentation covers the definition of Hazardous Material, Classes of Hazardous Material, and Familiarization with Dangerous Good Regulations. The objectives are to increase employees’ awareness and formulate an essential element in reducing Hazardous material incidents.<\/span><\/p>\n

INITIAL HUMAN FACTORS\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n

The majority of all aviation incidents and accidents are the results of human error. New regulations have been established by FAA and EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) to require all aircraft technicians to have an in-depth understanding of the role that Human Factors play in the safety of the airline industry. Training in the maintenance of human factors is an essential part of an FAA-approved training program. Please complete all 6 Modules for full credit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
